  • What is equine bodywork?
    Equine bodywork encompasses a range of therapeutic techniques designed to improve the physical and emotional well-being of horses. These techniques include BEMER therapy, various massage and bodywork modalities, cupping, and Kinesiotaping. The goal is to enhance performance, relieve pain, and support overall health and well being.
  • How can bodywork benefit my horse?
    Bodywork offers numerous benefits. These include improved circulation, reduced muscle tension, enhanced flexibility, better range of motion, faster recovery from exercise, relief from chronic pain, improved posture and movement patterns. It also aids in stress reduction and overall relaxation.
  • What should I expect during a bodywork session?
    During a bodywork session, we will assess your horse’s current condition and tailor the session to their needs. This will be a specific combination of massage and bodywork modalities used to reach the short and long term goals for the horse . Each session is designed to be comfortable and therapeutic for your horse.
  • How often should my horse receive bodywork?
    The frequency of bodywork sessions depends on your horse’s individual needs and activity level. Many of our clients schedule sessions every two to four weeks to maintain optimal health and performance. We can create a customized plan based on your horse’s specific requirements.
  • Are there any conditions that prevent my horse from receiving bodywork?
    Yes, though all client horses should have veterinary clearance for bodywork, there are acute conditions that may require additional veterinary clearance before bodywork can be performed. These include recent surgeries and injuries, open wounds, active laminitis, high temperatures, and broken bones. Please refer to our Contraindications page for a detailed list.
  • Do you work with other equine professionals?
    Absolutely. We believe in a collaborative approach to equine wellness and work closely with veterinarians, farriers, trainers, saddle fitters, and nutritionists. This ensures that your horse receives comprehensive and holistic care.
  • What is Kinesiotaping and how is it used on horses?
    Kinesiotaping involves applying elastic therapeutic tape to muscles and joints to provide support without restricting movement. It helps with decompression, pain reduction, inflammation control, support for correct movement patterns, and enhanced performance by supporting muscles and aiding in recovery.
  • Can bodywork help with my horse’s performance issues?
    Yes, bodywork can address underlying restrictions, muscle imbalances, and postural and movement patterns that may be affecting your horse’s performance. By improving flexibility, balance, strength, and range of motion, bodywork helps your horse perform at their best. We also work with trainers to tailor our therapies to your horse’s specific performance needs.
  • How do I schedule a session or consultation?
    To schedule a session or consultation, please contact us via phone or email. We will discuss your horse’s needs and arrange a convenient time for the session. Please note that we may have a waitlist, so early booking is recommended.
  • What areas do you serve?
    We primarily serve clients within an hour’s radius of the Raleigh-Cary area. If you are outside this area, please contact us to discuss potential arrangements.
  • What should I do to prepare my horse for a bodywork session?
    Ensure your horse is clean and dry before the session. Please have your horse arranged to be in or brought in and have a quiet and comfortable area available for the treatment session. We will ask you to fill out an intake form to provide us with relevant health and history information about your horse. This is required to be completed before the session begins.
